There is a new movement going on and it is spreading fast. It is the movement of the raw food diet. People on this diet claim that they never get sick and many claims have been made of being cured from diseases where there supposedly is no cure for.
Almost any disease or sickness can be reversed just by switching to this diet. People on the raw food diet look younger, have more energy, and feel much better than those on a conventional diet. Predictions have been made that this diet could help us to live well over 100 years and never get sick.
The diet consists of raw fruits, vegetables and nuts. Fruits and vegetables are juiced or blended and consumed the same day.
Nuts are eaten raw, mixed together to create a trail mix or added to a smoothie. Smoothies are
a hit amongst the raw foodist groups. They are fun and easy to make, and basically you can add anything that you like and drink them for breakfast, lunch and supper.
Not only can we have smoothies, but we can have raw fruit pies, cookies, salads and the list goes on.
Today most people don't believe that you can live off the land and be healthy. They have been brainwashed into thinking that our bodies would never survive without meat, dairy or eggs. They also think that a diet without cooked food is bland, tasteless and boring.
What they don't know is that there is just as much fun to be had with raw food as cooked food, and the taste is far more exquisite raw, than after the nutrients have been cooked, baked or boiled out of it.
The raw food diet has become popular over the last few years and it will continue to gain even more popularity as people discover the benefits of this diet.
While the diet and the discoveries of all the health benefits are new to us, there is absolutely nothing new about this diet as it goes back all the way to the beginning of creation.
When God created this world he created everything, including plants, animals, and humans.
God knew that in order for plants to grow they would need soil, water, and sunshine, and so He created all those neccesities for the plants.
In the same way when God created Adam and Eve, He created everything they would need in order to survive. He knew that our bodies would need excercise and so He gave them work to do. He also knew that they would have to eat healthy so they could live long and healthy lives, and so He had already created fruit trees and other plants for them to eat. He gave them clear instructions that this was to be their diet.
"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1:29.
Verse 30 goes on to say the same for the animals...that they were also to live off the land. The Bible doesn't state, but I believe these fruits and vegetables were consumed raw, at least whenever possible.
It wasn't until after the flood that God allowed meat to be a part of the diet. The Bible doesn't say, but I think it is safe to say that the reason God allowed meat to be eaten was because there was no other food to eat.
Noah and his family had just spent a year on the ark with all the animals, which most likely had multiplied rapidly, and the food supply probably had run out. Vegetation had not yet re-grown and therefore it was necessary to eat meat in order to survive.
It is interesting to note that before the flood people lived to be 900 years old. After the flood however the life span decreased dramatically. I'm sure there are many factors that played a role in this, and not eating meat, or other cooked foods was definitely one of them.
If this is the first time you've heard about the raw food diet then you're probably thinking that its insane and that you'd never survive on this diet. But I encourage you to try it just for one week and take note of all the positive changes that you will experience. I guarantee you will feel better.
If it's too hard to try it for one week, then start off with one smoothie a day, or any other change that you like. If you like fruit then just eat more fruit, if you like veggies, then eat more of those.
When I made the switch I would start off raw in the morning and stick to it for as long as I could throughout the day. Then when hunger or temptation got too much for me then I simply switched to my regular diet for the rest of the day. Eventually you get this down to one cooked meal a day, and then every other day, and so on, but it takes a lot of discipline.
